Meet Freya

Freya was the first cow to arrive at Old Hall Farm, and set the trend for naming all of the cows after goddesses due to her stunning looks and excellent pedigree.

The rest of the cows names are:

Hera
Gaia
Juno
Maya
Iris
Nyx
Persephone
Styx

We also have three young pedigree Jerseys by the names of Daisy, Buttercup and Ellie - they are currently 18 months old and we hope to breed them when they are 2yrs old, so that they have their first calves a little before their third birthdays. At Old Hall Farm, we don't like to breed our cows when they are too young - we like to wait until they are fully mature in themselves before they have calves of their own. Once our three "trainees" have their calves, they will be given their goddess names!

Meet Hera

Hera came to us accidentally! When we went to Scotland to collect Gaia, Hera was offered to us as well as she didn't fit in with the commercial dairy system that she was in. She has a big personality and came off the trailer like Queen Latifah at a live gig.

The rest of the cows names are:
